Will all of the customers for the selected appointment date range be sent a text message?

No, only customers that you select with an applicable number and Beeper selected as their primary contact will be notified.

Do my customers get charged for the text message?

Standard text messaging rates apply and vary from carrier to carrier. For additional information regarding text rates, your customers will have to contact their cellular carrier, they are not charged extra by ConfirmText for this service.

What if some of my customers with cell phones do not want text confirmations?

Your text message customers will be kept separated from other mobile numbers by utilizing the Beeper field. You will simply enter their mobile number in the Beeper field in the customer information file. Then, during your setup you will select Beeper as the primary contact to send text messages to those customers only.

If my client has more than 1 service scheduled, will they receive more than 1 confirmation text?

If the appointments are scheduled back to back, only 1 text will be sent. If there is a break of 15 minutes or more between services, the client will receive a text message for each “start” time.

How do I know the messages are being sent?

The integration automatically updates the confirmation status bar on the appointment book to “Left Message” when the messages are sent.

Can my customers respond to the text message?

Your customers may respond to the appointment confirmation text message by pressing “REPLY” on their phone and typing their message. Text replies will be sent to an email address you designate at the time of set up. The customer may also press “SEND” to call you back at the number of your choice. The integration does not allow text responses from customers at this time.

Do I get charged if my customers reply to a text message?

No, replies to ConfirmText messages are always free. Replies will be forwarded to the email address you provide.

When a client replies with a text to confirm their appointment will the appointment status be updated automatically?

This is in the works! We plan to implement this feature with our next version.

How will I know if there is a problem delivering a confirmation message to a client?

An email is sent to your designated email address with a list of any undeliverable messages or “kickouts”. If you do have any “kickouts”, the email will typically arrive to your inbox within minutes of the time your confirmations are sent. This gives you the opportunity to use another form of communication until the issue is resolved.

We can’t leave our internet connection on when we close – it goes to “sleep”. Is there a way around this?

Yes, we can set the scheduled task to run at the very end of each day or at the very beginning of each day at a time when you can be sure your internet connection will be available. For example, if you open at 8:00 am, the scheduled task could run at 8:15, and your messages can be scheduled to go out as soon as 9:00 am.

We’re closed on Sunday and Monday – will someone have to go to the salon/spa to send the confirmations on these days?

No! The ConfirmText integration works even when you’re closed. The integration sends the appointment file to us automatically each day, with absolutely no interaction needed by the user! The task is typically set up to run during the hours you’re closed. Just make sure your internet connection is an “always on” connection or that your internet connection is available when your location is closed.

Can I include additional messages attached to the appointment information?

Cell phones will allow up to 160 characters, after confirmation information this leaves room for only a brief add on. The confirmation message can be customized and this is done at the time of setup. If the salon/spa owner would like the option of sending marketing messages, NOTIFYall provides this solution. Customers must explicitly OPT IN to receive marketing messages from a salon/spa and requesting a text confirmation does not constitute OPT IN for marketing text messages
